Here is the next “authors with heart” spotlight and prize pack from our 2017 project! I'll be doing these posts until spring of 2018, plus catching up with a few authors from 2016. I'm still a little behind. In these features, you get to hear about a book and have a chance to win a prize! Each featured author helped with the 2017 Mother's Day thermal bags that were donated to two Washington state Fisher Houses—VA Puget Sound Healthcare System in Seattle and Madigan Army Medical Center at JBLM.
“This the third book in the Honey Ridge series and an absolute gem like the others. The author's characters are full of love and passion and all harbor secrets that only the strength found in love will let them reveal. Ms. Goodnight’s descriptive comparisons are genius: “Devlin cocked an eyebrow, black as sin’s underbelly and every bit as devilish.” And it only gets better from there. The wrapping of past and present is perfection. I hope she does another tale in this series.” —Amazon Reviewer, five stars
Here's the blurb for THE INNKEEPER'S SISTER:
Grayson Blake always has a purpose—and never a moment to lose. He's come home to Honey Ridge to convert a historic gristmill into a restaurant, but his plans crumble like Tennessee clay when the excavation of a skeleton unearths a Civil War mystery…and leads him back to a beautiful and familiar stranger.
Once a ballet dancer, now co-owner of the Peach Orchard Inn, Valery Carter harbors pain as deep as the secrets buried beneath the mill. A bright facade can't erase her regrets any more than a glass of bourbon can restore what she's lost. But spending time with Grayson offers Valery a chance to let go of her past and imagine a happier future. And with the discovery of hidden messages in aged sheet music, both their hearts begin to open. Bound by attraction, and compelled to resolve an old crime that links the inn and the mill, Grayson and Valery encounter a song of hurt, truth…and hope.
I've been reading Linda's books since she was writing for Silhouette Romance and Love Inspired. I'm so happy she's doing longer contemporary romances with these Honey Ridge Novels. This sounds like another good one! I love the hint of mystery in the blurb, too. What do you think?
