Here's an “authors with heart” spotlight and prize pack from our 2016 project! I'll be doing these posts until spring of 2018, plus catching up with a few authors from 2016. I'm finally catching up. In these features, you get to hear about a book and have a chance to win a prize! Each featured author helped with the 2017 Mother's Day thermal bags that were donated to two Washington state Fisher Houses—VA Puget Sound Healthcare System in Seattle and Madigan Army Medical Center at JBLM.

This week the spotlight is on Lynda Ward's PRECIOUS THINGS. I met Lynda through an online writers group that used to be on GEnie a long time ago. Lynda wrote for Harlequin Superromance and is now re-releasing the titles through Belgrade Press. Lynda was kind enough to sponsor two totes for the Fisher House Project.

Here's the blurb for PRECIOUS THINGS:

Mark and Amanda Wexler have a perfect life: a long, happy marriage, a thriving antiques business–and now Amanda is expecting the child they've always wanted. Then tests show their baby will be born with Down syndrome. Suddenly their perfect life seems as fragile as the antiques in their showroom. Will their marriage be strong enough to handle the challenges facing them and their child? Women’s Fiction by Lynda Ward; originally published by Harlequin Superromance.

Available at:
Amazon Kindle | BN Nook | iBooks | Google Play

This sounds like a very emotional story! I remember being counseled to have additional tests with one of my child's pregnancies for a similar reason. I have to admit, I do like stories that happen after the “I do” and have written a couple of fractured marriage stories myself. Do you like reading them?

*** According to random.org, Nicole (Nicky) Ortiz is the winner! See comment section on how to claim your prize! ***

A special thanks to Lynda for sponsoring totes for the Seattle/JBLM Fisher House moms on Mother's Day. She's been a part of this effort for a couple of years, and I really appreciate her support!
