Welcome to Indigo Bay!

I'm excited to part of the Spring 2018 launch of the Indigo Bay Sweet Romance series along with Pamela Kelley, Kay Correll, Jean Oram, Stacy Claflin, and Jean C. Gordon. The Indigo Bay world has been written so readers can dive in anywhere in the series without missing a beat so grab a glass of sweet tea and enjoy these sweet, heartwarming romances…

The fifth release in this Spring 2018 launch is SWEET REUNION by Stacy Claflin!

About the book…

She's determined to stay single, but everyone else is determined to see her married.

Maggie Kendrick is trying to start over in the enchanting beach town where she spent her summers growing up. Life has thrown her one too many wrenches, and now she's resolved to move on—without a man.

Aunt Lucille has made it her life's mission to see Maggie walk down the aisle. Everyone knows it too, as Lucille has tried to set Maggie up with every available bachelor in Indigo Bay.

Canyon Leblanc was Maggie's first love, and he just returned to town. Sparks start flying again—stronger than ever. Distance has definitely made their hearts grow fonder, but Canyon has spent the last seven years living a wild and destructive lifestyle, and that reputation labels him a less-than-desirable catch.

Maggie and Canyon see past each other's situations, but nobody in town wants them to get together, least of all Aunt Lucille. Friends, family, and even an enemy work hard to keep them apart.

Will Maggie open her heart to love again despite the many obstacles, or will the single life prove to be her best option?

Make That Appointment

This post is more of PSA type, but something I feel strongly about—colonoscopies. Yeah, not the most fun topic, but getting screened for colorectal cancer is important, especially with the rise in cases for those under fifty.

I'll be honest. The entire thought of having a colonoscopy was a little icky to me based on what friends had told me about the prep and the resulting, well, poop. My biggest reason for having one in December 2015 was because I wanted my husband to get his. I thought of the procedure as a box to check off so hubby would make his own appointment.

I never expected to wake up and hear my gastroenterologist tell me how lucky I was to have come in when I did. What he found turned out to be pre-cancerous. That meant I would be watched and not wait three, five, or ten years for another colonoscopy.

So what has this meant for me? More screenings. The first not quite seven months later and the second a little over an year and a half after that. The recent one led to my being referred to a surgeon.

I had surgery last Wednesday. I was so happy to be back home on Thursday, and even happier when my surgeon called on Friday afternoon, her day off, to tell me the pathology results—no cancer. I'll find out what's next at the end of the month during my post-op appointment, but I'm not worried. I have an awesome team in charge of my care.

While I was in the hospital, I read an article about lowering the colorectal screening age from 50 to 45. I was all smiles over this, and I pray the insurance companies follow the new recommendation.

Screenings provide a way for early detection. Many polyps removed are benign and no big deal, but sometimes they find something else and you might not have any symptoms or ones that can be explained as something else.  A colonoscopy isn't the only screening method. Talk to your doctor about what is best for your situation.

If you've been waiting or putting off a colonoscopy or other screening method, please don't. Make that appointment. If you don't want to do this for yourself, think of those who love you. Yeah, I'm playing the guilt card, but if it makes one person do this, I'll take that as a win.

Forgiveness. Second chances…and secrets.

Resort manager Zoe Ward has spent the past year throwing her broken heart into rescuing abandoned pets and ensuring vacationing couples have the trip of their dreams. She even helps engaged couples create their happily ever afters, something she’d believed she was going to have with Ashton Wallace before he left with barely a word about why. But now he’s back and looking for a second chance.

Ashton can’t stop thinking about Zoe. He knows all she wants is marriage and a family, and he was certain he could provide it. However, when his past life came crashing in before he could pop the question, he left Indigo Bay in order to protect Zoe. But now that things have settled out again, he’s back and looking to turn his biggest regret into a happy ending.

Will Zoe find room in her heart for forgiveness? And can Ashton prove that this time he’s here to stay? Because he’s been keeping secrets that could ruin everything…and Zoe knows it.

The third release in this Spring 2018 launch is SWEET STARLIGHT by Kay Correll!

About the book…

Whitney Layton doesn’t recognize the actor who comes into her shop and commissions a custom jewelry piece for his grandmother’s birthday gala.

Rick Nichols doesn’t know if he’s upset or thankful that Whitney doesn’t recognize him. While he longs to become more well known so his family will finally think he’s made a success of himself, he enjoys hiding out anonymously and being just an everyday normal guy.

As Rick’s best-laid plans for his grandmother’s party fall apart, Whitney steps in to help him. But as things heat up between them and the press catches wind of their relationship, their photo is splashed all over social media.

Whitney wants nothing of the limelight nor does she believe Rick will ever be happy with a small-town businesswoman who wants nothing more than to live out her life in Indigo Bay. She doesn’t need to add one more name to the list of people she’s cared about who have left her.

With Rick’s career plans at stake, they are both forced to decide what they really want out of life… and if their personal choices will prevent them from ever being together.
