Here's  another “authors with heart” spotlight and giveaway from the upcoming 2020 project. Usually these follow the Mother's Day tote bag projects, but this year that is on hold. As soon as we can reschedule the authors and I will get tote bags to the three Fisher Houses. But until then, enjoy these books from the authors who will be sponsoring the 2020 Mother's Day thermal bags for three Washington state Fisher Houses—VA Puget Sound Healthcare System in Seattle, Madigan Army Medical Center at JBLM, and VA Portland Health Care System in Vancouver. They will also be participating in the big readers giveaway at the end of the project!

In this week's spotlight is CJ Carmichael‘s A COWBOY'S PROPOSAL. This is the first book in her Shannon Sisters series. Here's what a reviewer had to say about the book:

“Don't let the title fool you. This book is not just romance. There is a lot of mystery in as well. I enjoyed seeing how this story played out and how Cathleen and Dylan found their way back to each other. Trying to figure out who the killer was threw me for a loop. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series.” —Goodreads Reviewer

Here's the blurb for A COWBOY'S PROPOSAL:

She’s not willing to forgive. He’s unable to forget.

One year ago, Montana cowboy Dylan McLean left the love of his life at the altar and fled town, thinking he was doing the right thing by saving her from a scandal. He’s found success on the rodeo circuit, but his love for Cathleen never faded. Now he’s returned home to clear his name, claim his bride and rebuild his legacy.

Bed-and-breakfast owner Cathleen Shannon has moved on from her broken heart. That is, until Dylan shows up at her house one night asking for help and a second chance. Despite Dylan’s betrayal, she promises to assist with his investigation. She doesn’t want an innocent man to go to jail, but her heart is most definitely off limits.

But Cathleen has forgotten one important fact: Dylan is relentless when he’s going after something he wants. He walked away once, but she won’t let that happen again.

I enjoy cowboy books so much. And CJ Carmichael knows the trope well. We were part of the Love at the Chocolate Shop together, and she's written other books set in Montana. Add in a second chance and I can't wait to see what happens. The hero is really going to have to redeem himself though! What do you think?
