This is last “authors with heart” spotlight and giveaway post from the now-cancelled 2020 project. Usually these follow the Mother's Day tote bag projects, but that didn't happen last year. Still I hope you enjoy these books from the authors who offered to sponsor the 2020 Mother's Day thermal bags for three Washington state Fisher Houses—VA Puget Sound Healthcare System in Seattle, Madigan Army Medical Center at JBLM, and VA Portland Health Care System in Vancouver.

I will restart these once we know if a 2021 project will occur or if not this year, then 2022.

THEN COMES WINTER by Denise Stout and several other authors is in the spotlight this week! It's an Austen-inspired anthology featuring eleven stories. Here's what a reviewer had to say:

“These well-written love stories offer not only a contemporary take based on the timeless works of Jane Austen, but new and intriguing period scenes that reveal additional glimpses into the lives of her endearing characters. Charming, often amusing, and always touching, I couldn't stop reading. This is the perfect gift for a devoted reader–or for yourself. Highly recommended!”—Kate Kae Myers, author of The Vanishing

Here's the blurb for THEN COMES WINTER:

Then Comes Winter with bluster and snow, that brings to our cheeks the ruddy glow… Gertrude Tooley Buckingham, The Four Seasons If you long for a toasty snuggle on a cold winter's night, this compilation of original short stories inspired by the magic of the holiday season-and more than a nod to Jane Austen-is fancied as a sublime wintertime treat. On the heels of the summer anthology, Sun-kissed: Effusions of Summer, and in concert with some of Meryton Press's most popular authors, this romantic anthology introduces several promising writers. With a robust mix of contemporary and Regency musings, Then Comes Winter rekindles passionate fires with equal wonder, wit, and admiration. Stories by: Lory Lilian, Linda Gonschior, Suzan Lauder, Beau North & Brooke West, Sophia Rose, Natalie Richards, Anngela Schroeder, Melanie Stanford, Denise Stout, Erin Lopez, Maureen Lee

Jane Austen fans take note! This anthology is filled with stories you'll enjoy. The tales are set in winter so perfect for this time of year. I have this in both eBook and paperback. I need to grab a cup of tea and reread Denise's story. What do you think?
